Educational Scenario of Ladakh

Since the inception of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan in the year 2003, series of commendable and considerable works has been done in this Region like;

  • Access,
  • Retention
  • Learning achievement, by opening EGS Centers/PS/MS,
  • Engaging Rehber –e – Taleem teachers(ReTs) and Education Volunteers(EVs),
  • Improving infrastructure,
  • Trainings for teachers and community,
  • Providing physical and financial assistance for the education of Girls
  • Micro-Planning and decentralization of education management system etc.

In the backdrop of all the efforts, substantial improvements in quality dimensions are witnessed. Enrolment and retention of children in the age group 6-14 years is reaching to the apex. Achievement level of children in curricular areas is raising to the standard.

However, some teachers working in elementary education do not possess the adequate teaching, evaluation and feed-back training which affects the quality education.
